I'm packing up my closet in anticipation of next month's move. I've decided to pair down to 5 shirts, 3 pants, 2 shoes, 2 dresses, and 1 cardigan so I can safely tape up boxes without fear of losing anything.
There's absolutely nothing stylish about living out of a suitcase. I'm not one of those people who can safely wear a capsule wardrobe or do a 10x10 challenge. I absolutely hate wearing the same few articles of clothing. Because of my anosmia I have an intense fear that what I'm wearing is accumulating a lifetime supply of stink and germs and I won't be able to tell. And, to be honest, I like having a lot of options available to me. Though it's hot all the damn time in the South, my arms occasionally get cold and I'd like to wear a sweater. Or take that sweater off when I get too hot.
BUT. I'm going to try this capsule wardrobe idea for the ten days before I move just to see if I can do it.
And because I'm not a Professional Fashion Blogger (TM) or someone who has the patience to photograph every article of clothing I have in my closet, I'm just using Polyvore's examples of my real life articles with *maybe* a picture or two of what I'm wearing.
As stated, my paired down wardrobe includes the following:
- Five shirts (gray cowl-neck blouse, gray T-shirt, peach sweater, yellow color-block Breton shirt, and navy blue tank top)
- Three pairs of pants (maroon jeans, dark blue denim leggings, denim Bermuda shorts)
- Two shoes (pair of dress sandals, pair of Chucks)
- Two dresses (LBD for events, Lilly Pulitzer for casual)
- One cardigan (peach)
(Note this does not include underclothes, socks, exercise clothes, or night clothes. Just daily wear.)
I'll have more information about each article of clothing as I post. Should be fun!
